The Columbia-Willamette Beagle Club, Inc. was founded in 1992. As stated in our constitution, the purpose of the CWBC includes protecting and advancing the interests of purebred Beagles, conducting sanctioned and licensed specialty shows, obedience trials and tracking tests under the rules of the American Kennel Club, and providing a social outlet for Beagle owners who share common interests. CWBC meets monthly and conducts a variety of competitive, educational, and social events throughout the year. For more detailed history of the Columbia-Willamette Beagle Club
Jean Applegate Retiring Sadly for the Beagle world, Jean Applegate is retiring from breeding Beagles due to health issues. Jean has bred and shown Beagles under the Applegate Kennel name for more than 20 years. She is a founding member of the Columbia-Willamette Beagle Club and has served the club as vice-president or a board member since the club was founded 15 years ago. She also was the club’s premiere hostess during most of these years, chairing the hospitality committee at many specialties, including the National specialty in 2003, and hosting most of CWBC’s annual Christmas parties and summer Beagle Bashes and barbecues.
